Society’s Annual Meeting
There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the New Zealand ■Women Writers’ and Artists’ Society in Wellington this week. The election of officers was as follows: President, Miss Mary Seaton; hon. vice-presidents, Miss Eileen Duggan, 0.8. E., Mrs. M. 11. Chatfield, 0.8. E., Miss N. E. Coad (London), Mrs. I M. Cluett (Auckland), Miss E. Howes (Dunedin), Miss Nelle M. Scanlan, Miss N. E. Donovan (Hastings), Miss Jane Mander (Auckland), Mrs. A. D. Kerr, Mrs. W. Moore (Dora Wilcox, Australia) ; active vice-presidents, Miks L. Morgan, ■Miss S. Stavely; executive committee, Mrs. J. D. MacQuarrie, Mrs. C. W. Taylor, Mrs. M. Kelly, Mrs. W. Bailey, Mrs. N. Browning, Miss P. Hanger. Miss M. Sievwrigbt; •see’e'ary-treasurer Mrs. E. B. V. Phillips. During the evening Mrs. W. Bailey sang "The Leafy Glades of England,” words by Mrs. Rosa Knight and music by Mr. Temple White, and "Beneath the Mamal;u,” words by -Mrs. Knight and music by Mrs. O. M. Shakespeare. Mr. Bernard Webb, accompanied by Mrs. Webb, presented “Amina,” words by Lieutenant Wilkie and music by Mrs. O. M. Stiakespenre. Miss Seaton was the recipient of flowers in appreciation of her services as president during tlie year. Supper hostesses were D. Jesson aud Mrs. N. Browning.
