DE LUXE THEATRE
Tn the silly season of pre-war days bright young things would indulge in ‘‘treasure hunts” as a prelude to a party. But. no treasure hunt ever turned out half as exciting as the one which is, unfolded on the screen at the De Luxe Theatre this week. It is a weekend till air, and the hunt is for real treasure on an uninhabited island off the coast of (Florida. The island was, once the hiding place of the piratical Captain Morgan, but, when the amateur sleuths' arrive, they find themselves face to face with a maniacal killer ami the serious and sinne-ehilling business of the picture starts. Dick Foran and Peggy Moran are the stars, ably assisted by Leo Carrillo, who will always be remembered in Wellington for his brilliant, stage appearance in ‘'Lombardi Limited.”
No less important on the programme is “Mr. District Attorney in the Carter Case.” an excellent murder mystery which stars .lames Ellison. Virginia Gilmore and Franklin I'augborn. The De Luxe io also collaborating with station 2ZB on a ‘‘movie quizz jackpot,” when questions about stars and films are likely to earn money for those who know the right answers.
