STATE THEATRE
While the axiom, "Ohl .friends are ibest.” may not apply in the cinema it is pleasant occasionally to welcome back the stars of yesteryear. Heading the east of •‘'Sweetheart of the Campus" at the State Theatre this week is Kuby Keeler, wife of Al Jolsou and forever famous as the dancing star of ‘T'orty-Second Street.” The film is light, musical and fast —romance in Hollywood’s conception of the halls of learning. Harriet Hilliard, who also makes a return to the screen after a long absence, and Ozzie. Nelson and bis Bund are other stars of this cheerful little picture. Charles Starrett, who by now must, have crooned nearly as many cowboy songs as Gene Autry, appears in "Texas Stampede.” the second picture on the programme. It is quite impossible to outline the plot of the film —it is designed along the same imperishable lines as a thousand other Westerns. (Which means that it will enjoy the same degree of popularity among lovers of these love-'em-or-shoot-'em shows.)
