Rehabilitation League
In future the Disabled Servicemen's Re-establishment League, will function under the Rehabilitation Board, and the Minister of Rehabilitation, Mr. Semple, and disabled soldiers will come uu'der Hie league and not the Pensions Department, as in the past. 'The league, at the finish of its special conference in Wellington yesterday, recorded its appreciation of the close and friendly co-operation over many years of the Pensions Department and the Minister of Pensions, Mr. Jones. The league’s amended rules, approved bv the Rehabilitation Board, provide for headquarters at Wellington, consisting of representatives of the Government, the N.Z.R.S.A., employers, manufacturers, Federation of Labour. Patriotic Fund Board, Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the Red Cross, South African Veterans’ Association. and National War _ Funds Board. The rules also provide for branch committees to consist of representatives in Hie districts concerned of the Government, employers, U.S.A., manufacturers, Trades and Labour Council. Provincial Patriotic Council, Technical College Board of Governors, St. John ami Red Cross Joint Council. South African Veterans ami Patriotic Committee. Brand) committees already function in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch. Dunedin, and Invercargill. Others will be set up as the need arises.
