Play And Items Presented In Studio Owing to war conditions, the Wellington Repertory Theatre has decided to hold its social evenings in the society’s studio, Lambton Quay, the first evening for the year being given last night. Two one-act plays and individual items comprised the programme, which was followed iby supper. The first play, “The Shadow Passes,” was by Mabel Constanduros and Howard Agg, the characters being played by Aileen Bacon, Mabel Gray, Ngaire Horton, Joy Oliver, Irene Spidy and Molly Denton. Mrs. Vera Horton was the producer. “Cat’s Claws,” by Gertrude Jennings, was the title of the second play. The players were Anne Lane, who was also the producer, Mrs. R. S. Allwright and Molly Cook. Duets were sung by Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Alylwright, Mrs. Merle Gamble sang, Madam Elsie Betts-Vincent gave pianoforte solos and Miss Monica Bell presented humorous items. Mrs. Charles McDonald was accompanist.
The programme is to be presented again tonight.
