Miss Nelle Scanlan lias returned to Wellington after a short, holiday spent with her sister, Mrs. T. J. Rogers, Palmerston North. Miss Elsie McMillan, Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs. Leslie Moss, Lower Hutt. Mrs. Victor Buckley, Christchurch, is staying in Palmerston North. The following North Island members of the Plunkett Society’s council will visit Dunedin this week for the halfyearly council meeting:—Mrs. 11. Jewett, Wellington; Mrs. L. S. McClurg, Napier; Mrs. Blundell, Carterton; Mrs. G. C. Petersqii, Palmerston North; Mrs. R. IV. Htrddow, Patea; Mrs. T. Hine, Wanganui; Mrs. N. Paterson, Pahiatua; Airs. N. Blomfleld, Hamilton. Miss Norah Nutt will leave Chr'istchurch at the end of the week on a short visit to Wellington. Miss Shirley Hotter, Wellington, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. L. Treleaven, Richmond Hill. Sumner, Christchurch. Major J. B. Robertson and Mrs. Robertson, Masterton, are Visiting Napier. Mrs. A. Donald, Ilemuera, Auckland, is visiting friends in the Hawke’s Bay district. Mrs. A. Nisbet Smith, New Plymouth, is visiting Wellington. Mrs. H. Wilmshurst has returned to Lower Hutt after a etay in Stratford. Mrs. R. L. Cooper, New Plymouth, is spending a holiday in 'Wellington. Mrs. L. 11. Searle, formerly of Palmerston North, is living with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Price, Hastings. Miss N. M. Bell has been granted leave of absence for the duration of the war from the staff of the Ashburton High School, to take up a temporary position with the Soil Survey Division of the Department of Industrial and Scientific Research, 'Wellington.
