FUEL DELIVERY

The method of sale to be adopted by retailers of coal, coke, and firewood was discussed at a meeting of the Wellington Coal Merchants’ and Dealers’ Industrial Union of Employers, when, as a result of the difficulties experienced by retailers in collecting cash with deliveries, aud also the difficulties occasioned by manpower shortage and petrol restrictions, it was decided unanimously to adopt the principle that on and after May 1 coal, coke and firewood will be sold only on the "cash with order” system.

Householders will therefore have to make payment when placing their orders for fuel, and should also place orders at least two or three days before supplies are required.
