Wellington Water Board

At the monthly meeting of the Wellington City and Suburban Water Board yesterday morning, presided over by the mayor, Mr. Hislop, a complete financial statement on the operations for the year was presented to members. The receipts from all sources were more than £l5O above the estimates. These included £lBl from rents, £975 for timber royalties, £1345 from local body contributions, only £2O from opossum trapping licences, and £7 in annual fees, a total of £3280. The payments during the year ended March 31 amounted to £2403. Afforestation and maintenance of plantations cost £6lO and administration, insurances, and supervision charges £B5B. Interplanting cost £65 The •balance carried forward amounts to £876.

The board's forestry officer. Mr. A. D. Perham, submitted his annual report, which was approved, and is being forwarded to tlie Commissioner for State Forests. It will not be released for publication till the commissioner consents.

The estimates for the current year were also submitted. With a trilling alteration these were the same as the provisional estimates published a few days ago.
