(Bv Telegraph - Press Association.) HASTINGS, April 15. Top lambs and wethers again commanded brisk selling at Storlford Lodge today, when peak values ruled for some lines. Second class wether lamas for carrying over were not as keenly sought, resulting in values slightly favouring buyers. A big yarding of 14,000 fat and forward wethers made 23/-. Others, mostly two-tooths, very forward, made 24/6, ton price being 25/9. Well-grown, earlyshorn ewe lambs sold well at 22/4, smaller at 15/6 to 17/4. Good medium-grown woolly ewe lambs made 22/-, others to 21/7. Extra forward woolly wether lambs topped the sale at 22/-, medium-grown handling well 18/6, lighter 16/3 to l</2. Empty forward ewes were tn keen demand from 12/6 to 13/1 and five-year ewes, variable mouths, early lambing to ?.D., brought 15/-, others in better condition making 16/6. ~ , ~ . Fat ewes, which made up the bulk or the fat sheen offering of 900 head, advanced sharply in value by J/- to 4/- a head. Competition was keen on the part of the butchers, whose limits remained clastic. Best heavy ewes sold from 20/to 23 111 which were the highest values for the’ season. Medium to good ewes brought Hi 10 to 19/L inferior 11/1 to 1.,, 1. Extra good wei'aers topped the sale at 30T0 others, smaller, making 20/l to 2U>4.’ Good lambs brought 2W4 to U/4, medium 21,7 to 2.1/4 and light to L/10. \ strong market ruled lor More cattle, witii females keenly sought, .the yarding of 700 was a mixed offering.
