Seven-Day Work Week. A message from Ottawa says that union representatives and employers mi the west eoast of Canada have accepted proposals by the Minister of Labour, Mr. Mitchell, for the continuous operation of a sevett-day working week. The shipyards will operate in this manner immediately.
Donation For Fighter. Mr. and Mrs. S. 11. Ellis, of Suva, have donated £5500 to the Fiji Fighter Fund to purchase fighter aircraft for Britain. It will be named "Comrades in Arms. Fiji am] New Zealand," This is Hie third lighter given by Mr. EHD. Cost of Coal Strikes. It is estimated that during Hie six mouths ended at March IS. coal strikes cost Briain 188,000 man 'days and 179.000 lons of coal
