Ark Royal’s Only Victim.
Edward Mitchell, aged 50, the oldest man on the Ark Royal, was the sole victim when the vessel sank, says the Loudon "Daily Express.” He was sleeping deep down in the ship and was killed by the explosion of the torpedo. British Woollen Exports. The export of woven tissues and blankets containing over 15 per cent, of wool is prohibited from November 21 except under licence, states a British Board of Trade notice. It is intended later to allot export rations to exporters for certain destinations, including Empire countries.
More Men For War Work. The British Ministry of Labour and National Service announces that it has been decided that it will be possible during the period January to June, 1942, to release a very substantial number of men now employed in building and civil engineering for service in the defence services aud for munitions work. The reservation age is being raised in some 70 occupations.
