Big Demand For Men
Some coastal ships could, not be worked on the Wellington waterfront yesterday afternoon and it is probable that there will be work available this morning for at least 100 casual workers, said Mr. W. H. Bennett, secretary of the N.Z. Waterside Employers Association, last night. The wet weather had upset the movements of coastal ships with the result that there was a big demand for labour at Wellington.
