TO MEET IN TIMARU
Presbyterian General Assembly The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand is convened to meet in Chalmers Churc.i, Tiinaru, on November 4. Arrangements for the Assembly are in the hands of the Presbytery of Timaru, at whose invitation the Assembly meets for the first time there. The retiring Moderator is the .RL Rev. G. H. Jupp, Anderson’s Bay, Dunedin, who during his year of office has made a special study of -the- missionary work of the church among the Maoris and has visited extensively the Maori field. The incoming Moderator is the Rt. Rev. J. Davie, Masterton. who will preside at all the business sessions of Assembly in Timaru. A full and interesting agenda comprising important reports of all the main Assembly committees will be presented. A final report will be given on the result of the £300,000 Centenary Thanksgiving Fund appeal. The Chaplains Committee will report, on work with the forces at. home and overseas and the general work of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand during the past year will coae under review.
