BRITISH SAILORS’ SOCIETY

Attendances were large at the British Sailors’ Society at the weekend. Yesterday seating accommodation was taxed to the limit at tea time. In the evening Hawaiian items were given by some of the guests and greatly enjoyed. On Saturday, following an outing to Day’s Bay for a number of visiting seamen, a hot tea followed by a social evening was enjoyed. On Thursday night a Maori concert was given by the Te Ropu entertainers from Lower Hutt, under Mr. T. P. Love's direction.
