Schedules From Daventry IMPORTANT CHANGES Beginning tomorrow, Sunday, October 5, at the end of the transmission to Aorth and South America which closes at 4.30 p.m., extensive alterations in the timing of the transmissions to the various world zones will be brought into force by the British Broadcasting Corporation. The Pacific transmission, which for the past few months has been opening at 4.57 p.m., will open at 0.10 p.m., and will close at 9.57 p.m. instead of at 8.17 p.m. as hitherto. The News and Headline News will remain on their existing time schedule at 6.15 .p.m. and 8.0 p.m. respectively, but the Pacific Bditioii of Radio Newsreel will be transmitted at 9.30 p-m. instead of at 7.30 .p.m. The daily feature talk which has hitherto been heard at 6.0 p.m. will in future come at 7.30 p.m., and the special features for Australia and New Zealand which have been received nt 7.30 p.m. will come at N otable changes in the schedules of the other three transmissions are as follows :—The inclusion of a radio newsreel in the African programme at 7.0 a.m.; a Headline News Summary at 9.1 a a.m., at which hour the North American transmission will now open; and the dropping of the news session at noon in favour of a similar session at 1.0 p.m., with the Headline News and Commentary, hitherto heard at 1.0 p.m., being put back to 2.0 p.m. Today’s Programmes Empire Broadcasts The news broadcasts from Daventry today are on the following schedule.
