OVERSEAS LEAGUE

Officers And Committee Elected When Sir Evelyn Wrench was iu Wellintgon recently, he and Lady ■Wrench were entertained at a social gathering by Sir Michael and Lady Myers, the object being to revive the ■Wellington, branch of the Overseas League. After addresses bad been given by the visitors, this was decided on. Subsequently a meeting of members was held, when the following officers were elected ; —-President, Sir Michael Myers; vice-presidents, Mrs. H. Kirkcaldie, Messrs. E. W. Hunt, S. E. Lambert, Gordon Reid, M. Marks, and H. A. Gold; chairman and hon. corresponding secretary, Mr. Appleton; executive, Mesdames H. .Kirkcaldie, C. Nichols, Miss M. Butler, .Messrs. E. W. Hunt, A. Sutherland, P. T. Palmer, S. E. Lambert, P. McLean, G. C. Claridge; social committee. Mesdames Gordon Re'id W. E. A. Gill, Knox Gilmer, L. W. .Griffiths,, A. Sutherland, E. W. Hunt, C. Nichols, C. Fuller, W. Appleton, Misses R. Putnam, M. Price, Messrs. Gordon Reid, M. Donnehy, K. Darroeh; social secretary, Miss Sheila Price. Efforts are being made to codecs funds to provide Christmas comforts for the men in minesweeper and trawler service in Great Britain. Already one member, Mrs. L. W. Griffiths, has collected £.1.3/10/- for this purpose, and this sum has been remitted to London. A social gathering of the league is to be held in the Pioneer Club Rooms in October, when Commodore Parry will give an address.
