Death Of Mrs. C. E. Adams ACCIDENT AT MARKETS Caught behind a heavy motor-truck that was being backed into a cart dock at the fruit and vegetable markets while she was walking in Allen Street, Wellington, yesterday morning, Mrs. C. E. Adams, wife of Dr. Adams, former Government Astronomer, was run over and killed instantly. The accident happened shortly before noon. Dr. and Mrs. Adams lived at 7 Telford Terrace, Oriental Bay. Mrs. Adams was aged 72. She was i le of the best known and most highly respected women of the city, where she had lived for about 40 years. Before her marriage to Dr. Adams in 1896 she was Miss Eleanor Robina Jacobson, a daughter of Mr. Howard Charles Jacobson, whose family was one of the oldest in Akaroa. There are three sons and three daughters, Messrs. D. Adams, H. Adams and W. Adams, all of Wellington, and Misses Marjorie and Maisie Adams, both of Wellington, and Mrs. David St. Clair, United States. Mrs. Adams was a prominent member of the Wellington Shakespeare Society, of which Dr. Adams is a vicepresident and a former president.
