MASTERTON, October 1, A small entry of sheep was forward at the sale conducted at the Masterton saleyards today. The demand for sheep was not as strong as at last week’s sale, and prices showed a slight easing. Store sheep made good values. A few cattle were offered and sold at late rates. Prices are :—- Sheep: Fat S.D. ewes. 15/8; fat shorn ewes. 11/6 to 14/9. fat woolly ewes, 18/4; light fat shorn wethers, 20/6; wether hoggets. 18/9 to 21/1; woolly ewe hoggets, 25/9 to 32/-: ewes with b.f. lambs at fool. 13/1 (all counted) ; b.f. hoggets, to 19/9. Cattle: Jersey heifer in milk, £B/10/-; fat Jersey cows. £5/15/-; store cows, £3/9/-. Pigs: Weaners, good. 16/- to 20/-, medium, 14/- to 15/-, small. 8/-.
