60 PARCELS PACKED

Foxton Women’s Emergency Corps The weekly meeting of the Foxton Women’s Emergency Corps was held recently. There was a good attendance, the number of members present being the largest for some time. Sewing is usually the order of the afternoon but on this occasion the women concentrated on packing Christmas parcels fo r soldiers serving overseas. Foxton’s quota of parcels was 60, ihe total number of parcels packed at the meeting being 61, so the workers had a busy time. Each parcel contained a varied assortment of useful articles. Th mayoress, Mrs. E. M. Perreau, wishes to thank the helpers for their assistance and a special vote of thanks Is accorded to Mr W. R. Byne, who was in attendance to assist with the wrapping of the parcels.
