FIRE IN HOTEL
An outbreak of fire occurred in Barrett’s Hotel, Lambton Quay, on Saturday night, but was suppressed before it developed serious proportions. Machines from the Central Fire Brigade Station and the Thorndon station responded to an alarm raised at 10.44 p.m., and the brigadesmen extinguished the fire, which was in a bedroom on the first floor, with bucket pumps.
