AMATEUR CYCLING

N. Scrimgeour Wins Road Race A race of 20 miles, starting from and finishing at Kaiwarra, was conducted by the combined amateur cycling clubs of Wellington on Saturday, and resulted: X. Scrimgeour, 1; B, Saudilands, 2; P. Innes, 3. Fastest time: K. Houre, 1; D. Ogden, 2. A splendid finish by a bunch of five riders was the feature of the race. Scrimgeour showed that, little improvement he needed to gain a popular win. Saudilands and Innes again registered sterling performances. Hoare maintained excellent. form in securing time honours, second best time going to Ogden, bis performance, as be is still a junior, being outstanding.
