Sine Die Adjournments For
13 Reservists CASES BEFORE APPEAL BOARD Appeals against military service in respect of 20 reservists were considered by the Armed Forces Appeal Board in Wellington yesterday. Thirteen appeals were adjourned sine die, six were dismissed subject to reservists being called up on fixed dates, and one was dismissed because of the non-appearance of appellant and coappellant. The grounds of the appeals were public interest and undue hardship. , . Mr. Stilwell, S.M., was chairman, with Messrs. P. Coyle and A. Parlane, members, Mr. C. O. Roundhill, secretaSine die adjournments were-'granted to the following reservists on the grounds stated: Fred Gallien, I slu P’? l ,. el€ctr l c ] l ) a f’ public interest; Donald William Allely Muir, factory foreman, public interest, Kinley Harold Black, refrigerating engineer, undue hardship and public interest; James George .Plunkett, mechanical engineer, public interest; Alfred Ross Petrie, chemist, public interest; Arthur Hunter, fisherman, public interest; Noel William Henry Gooding, farm manager, undue hardship and public interest, William George Lintern, shoemaking scourer, undue hardship and public interest; Ronald Henry Shepherd, public servant, public interest; William Farrington, shepherd, undue hardship and public interest; Robert Chester Daley, Salvation Amy officer, public interest; Heathcote Bennet Holgate, scientific instrument manufacturer, undue hardship and public interest; Robert Vivian Atkinson, fisherman, public interest. An appeal by Leslie William Gray, supported by his wife, Nancy Blanche Gray, on the ground of undue hardship, was dismissed through non-appearance of appellant and co-appellant. _ The. following appeals were dismissed, subject to reservists being called up for service on the dates specified: James Patrick Duggan, paint-maker, undue hardship , and public interest, July 29; Joffre Guy de Rouffignac, engine-driver, undue hardship, May 13; Lawrence William Murphy, carpenter, undue hardship, May 31; Henry Johnson, salesman, undue hardship, May. 29; James Lambic, packer, undue hardship, July 14; Marcel Charles Stanley, grocer’s assistant, undue hardship, July 20.
