WOMAN’S DEATH ON ISLAND

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, April 29. Mrs. George Fife, one of a party of mutton-birders on an island off the east coast of Stewart Island, collapsed and died yesterday morning. Smoke signals were seen by her nephew, Ge.wge Fife, who was on the launch Manmewa, at 1 o’clock. The boat went-to the island and left at. 4 o'clock for Bluff, which was reached just after midnight.
