A total of more than £2,000,000 has been raised by five English towns whose final war weapons week figures are published. In every instance the sum raised was more [han double the amount aimed at, and in one case — East Dereham, Norfolk—more than ninefold. Dury, Lancashire, heads the list. Aiming at half .. million, tire town raised £1,110,161.
It. was announced in the House of Commons that the Budget will be presented on the first sitting day after April 6.
