Victory Cavalcade And Garden Fete For the Victory Cnv:ue:i<l<- which will he held on* Athletic Park, Wellington, this afternoon, beginning at 2 o'clock, an elaborate and attractive programme has been arranged. Proceeds will be transferred to the funds of the Public Service Queen. Miss Joan Young, and the Commerce Queen. Miss Patricia Lut-kie. The cavalcade will feature mussed bauds and Scottish displays, marching by girls' house teams, and a marching display by the Ist Battiuion, H elliugton Regiment. The finale will be a spectacular formation of girls teams tn colour to form the word "Victory” in human figures. Special parking arrangements, have been made to facilitate traffic. Men of the Second N.Z.E.F. wib raise funds for the Fighting Services Queen, Sister Molly Mahoney, by holding a garden fete at Trcntbam tomorrow In cooperation with the Trenthnm camp com mandant, Lient.-Colonei 11. D. McHugh M.C.. and the Wellington Racing Club, the camp nnd racecourse have been placed at the disposal of the organizers. Special trains have been arranged by the Railways Department, leaving Wellington at intervale- from 12.15 p.m., and leaving the camp for Wellington nt intervals from 4.20 p.m. Also in support of the Fighting Services Queen is the Rugby match which will be played on Athletic Park on Saturday. April 5, between first-class teams from the Air Force and the Army. Public Services Week. Supporters of the Public Service Queen will be in charge of the air-raid shelter, Featherston Street, next week, and have also arranged a programme of processions and entertainments, some of the entertainments being held at night.
