ESCAPED PRISONER RECAPTURED
Six Weeks At Liberty Dominion m*eciai. m-ikvici-WANGANUI, March 28. After being at liberty since early on the morning of February 14, an escaped prisoner, John Henry Wilson, alias Gordon Cyril James, aged 28, was arrested in Wanganui late this afternoon. Wilson was travelling from Wellington to Auckland under escort when be leapt from the. Limited express as it was slowing down about a mile north of Ohakune. He immediately disappeared into the bush, and in spite of police and warders making an extensive search of the King Country be was not seen till today. This afternoon Wilson was observed leaving a motor-car in Anzne Parade, and it was subsequently discovered that the vehicle was one which bad been missing from Wanganui for a> month. The police imide immediate inquiries, find Wilson was located in a shop in rhe business area by Constnbje R D. Gardner. He will appear in. the Magistrates’ Court. Wanginitii. tomorrow, when a remand will probably be sought.
