WORK FOR BLIND

Wellington Braille Club s Fine Year Seventy-six volumes and 72 budgets have been transcribed into Braille durin« the past year, stated the president, Mrs. S. Israel, iu her report to the annual meeting of the Wellington Braille Club. All these volumes and budgets were carefully proofed by the members, and shellbacked and sewn at the regular monthly meetings. Post Rangers’ Budgets were issued regularly each month throughout the year. The year bad been very active. The attendance at the weekly classes in the Red Cross rooms had increased considerably, and had -made necessary more assistance from members of the club. Nine students had obtained Braille certificates during the year, thus adding to the membership and widening the scope of Braille writing. The club membership now stands at <7, and 21 new students have enrolled. Mrs. S. Israel was re-elected president and the committee was re-elected. Mrs. W. W. Duff resigned from the correspondence section, and Mrs. Lees was elected in her place. Miss Re Van Staveren, who has been conducting and editing the budgets, resigned, and Miss Maginie, he) assistant, will take her place, assisted bv Miss Chalmers. Special tribute was paid to Miss Van Staveren s devoted work for this section. The president made special mention of the successful raishig of funds, organized by the lion, secretary-trea-surer, Mrs. J. R. Boyd, and Miss Rui Van Staveren.
