WAR WORK GROUP
Play Given At E.S.U. Afternoon The main item on the programme which was given at the Engllsh-Speak ing Union’s social afternoon for women members yesterday was a one-act comedy, presented by the union’s war work group. It was entitled “Here Lies Matilda,” and was produced by Madam Bligb, who took part together with Mesdames N. McCartney, J. FWilson, E. R. Morgan, J. F. Roufe, Brian Simpson and Miss Price. Other items given were recitations by Miss Naimestad and songs by Mrs. Chapman, accompanied by Mrs. Wilson. Afternoon tea was served and the “bring and buy” stall for war work funds was well patronized. Mrs. K. Preston, chairman of the women's committee, presided and welcomed the new members present.
