Sexual Crime

Sir, —I am one reader who appreciates the letter of “Doctor of BioPsychology,” in your issue of March 27, but why lay all this stress upon oie minor menace to the human race when three-fifths of the white race suffer from syphilis and its concomitant diseases which are far too numerous to mention? “Doctor of Bio-£tsychology” says that sexual perversion is definitely a mental disease, which, of course, it is, and mentions that in 1937 one single clinic alone in London had a waiting list of 20.000 seeking help. For every case discovered there are probably six cases undiscovered, so that the position is much more appalling than it appea rs at first sight. “Doctor of Bio-Psy-chology” wishes to set about treating and “curing” these people who admittedly are suffering from mental defection; in any case, they will be allowed to marry and breed, utterly regardless of what mental defectiveness they bestow upon their offspring. I say that, as a beginning, it is a wieked thing that any person should be allowed to marry who cannot produce a clean bill of health both mental ani physical. Apparently we are wealthy and profligate, and can afford to buill ever bigger'asylums, and to do our level utmost to fill them and our hospitals and prisons to capacity.—l am, etc, UNCIVILIZED PAGAN. Levin, March 27.
