Strickland To Fight In Sydney Mr. .1. Crowley, manager of Maurice Strickland, professional heavyweight boxing champion of New Zealand, Ims received word from Stadiums. Ltd., Sydney, that they have arranged a match for Strickland with Carmen Barth, the American, at Sydney, on April 3. Strickland will leave for Sydney by the Mariposa from Auckland on March 22. lhe terms under which the New Zealander will light will be for a guarantee of a set sum, or 25 per cent, ot the gate, ,t the latter should be greater. In his letter to Mr. Crowley, Mr. Harry Miller, manager of Stadiums, Ltd., states that efforts will be made to get Ambrose Palmer to meet Strickland, and a match may’ also be arranged for him with Cec. Overall, a former amateur champion of Australia, who has an unbeaten record since joining the cash ranks.
