R.A.F. ACHIEVEMENTS

Sir Arthur Longmore Gives

Praise After Visit

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 2.

A message sent by Air Chief Marshal Sir Arthur Longmore, leader of the Royal Air Force in the Middle East, to Air Vice-Marshal J. H. Dalbiac, officer commanding the R.A.F. in Greece, states: “On the conclusion of my visit to the R.A.F. under your command, and having seen for myself the conditions under which they are working in bad weather over mountainous country and from water-logged aerodromes, I wish to express my great admiration for the success that has been achieved.

“The great victory gained by your fighter squadrons in the air battle of February 28, in which 26 Italian aircraft were brought down, on the Albanian front, stands as a record so far for any front of the R.A.F. in the Middle East.

“No praise can be too high for the efficiency and wonderful spirit of your squadrons and of the services—R.A.F. and army—who provide such efficient air support, to our gallant allies the Greeks. With them Ave look forward with confidence to the future, whalever that may bring, and in the end to final victory.”
