Khandallah Garden Fete The grounds of “Woodmancote,” Miss G. E. Plimmer’s home in Khandallah, Wellington, were the scene on Saturday afternoon of a successful garden fete in aid of St. Barnabas Church funds. Lady Shirtcliffe officially openedthe party. She was welcomed, by Miss Plimmer, the Rev. W. J. Durrad and Mrs. Durrad, and the Rev M. and Mrs. Crompton-Smith, and was presented with a bouquet of pink dahlias, pink am’ lavender asters, and maidenhair fern, Mrs. Wilman, Mrs. Jesson, and members of the Welsh Society in Welsh costume, sang traditions’! Welsh songs, and Miss Proctor’s team of Khandallah schoolgirls performed some interesting folk dances. The grounds, sheltered by beautiful trees and shruibs, were a lovely picture in the afternoon sunshine.
