BALL AT RONGOTAI
Airmen Support Princess In Victory Carnival Palms, pot plants and coloured lights transformed the hall at the R.N.Z.A.F. station, Rongotai, for the ball held last night in honour of the Air Force Prin cess, Miss Thelma Jones, who is sup porting the Fighting Services Queen. The social committee of the station arranged the event, .which was very well attended by civilian guests as well as airmen. Wing Commander T. W White, E.D., and Mrs. White, officers attached to the station and their wives were among those present. Excellent dance music was played by an orchestra composed of members of the R.N.Z.A.F. band and a buffet supper was served in the theatrette, where arrangements were supervised by mem bers of the Air Force Relations. An airman master of ceremonies controlled dancing, which included a number of novelty items. There were prizes for lucky spot and monte carlo dances and an “air-raid” dance created much amusement, as partners had to find each other in the specially-darkened ballroom.
