Wellington College

BREASTSTROKE RECORD BROKEN In brilliant sunshine, the Wellington College annual swimming sports were held in the Bell Memorial Bath at the college yesterday afternoon. The assembled boys watched the events from the terraced grassy slope overlooking the pool, and a number of old boys and relatives of present pupils was also present. The senior championship was won by D. F. Mason, with 8 points, next being A. S. Fitzgerald with 7 points, and R. B. Twaddle with 3. The junior championship was won by D. M. Leary, with 8 points, followed by R. N. Thornton (7 points), and S. G. Jones (3 points). One record was broken during the afternoon, that for the 100 yards senior breaststroke, championship, in which the winner, W. Porter, put up the time of lmin. 35 3-ssec.
