Norwegian Ship Destroyed

RUGBY, February 20.

An Admiralty communique states that a Norwegian ship of about 1500 tons which was operating under German control was destroyed by the British submarine Sealion off the Norwegian coast. The vessel was stopped by the Sealion, which made a signal instructing the master to abandon ship. The master of the steamer replied by signal, “Thank you.” The Sealion waited 15 minutes while the crew abandoned ship in lifeboats. The ship was then destroyed by gunfire. Iler crew were quite safe in the lifeboats since the vessel was close to land when abandoned.
