JAIL FOR THEFT
Stated by Detective-Sergeant W. McLennan to have a bad list, John Reuben Samuel Shepherd, labourer amt cook, aged 21, who pleaded guilty in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington., before Mr. Stout, S.M.. yesterday to a charge of stealing in February 13 a sports coat, a pair of trousers and a mackintosh, of a total value of £4/12/0, the property of •I. Lindsay, was convicted and sentenced to six months’ bard labour. The articles were stolen from a room in the People’s Palace and an order was made for their return, to their owner.
