British Index Figure p.ntisii official Wireless.i (Received February .11, 7.5 p.m.) RUGBY, February 10. Tlie cost of living index figure in Britain, according to Ministry of Labour figures, shows a rise of twelve per cent, during last year. At the beginning of 1940 tlie index figure was 74 per cent, above that for July, 1914, as compared witli 55 per cent, inunedintelv before Hie outbreak of war in tlie previous September. By March 1 the figure had risen to 79. and on July •' had again risen sharply to 87. It declined to 85 by August 1, but by .1.-immrv 1 this year it bad risen to 9b.
