Akitio Ewe Sale

DANNEVIIKKE, February 4. The annual Akitio ewe sale was held yesterday in the Ora yards, lent by -Mr. B. Armstrong. The Hawke's Bay Farmers' Co-operative Association's yarding consisted of a large entry of first-class ewes on 'behalf of East Coast clients. The ewes came forward in excellent condition and were keenly competed for by buyers representing West Coast. Waikato, Hawke's Bay . and local districts. They quote:—4)n li.'c. F. Armstrong, Akitio Station, two-tooth ewes 29/- and 24/1; on a/c. It. 1). Armstrong. Ora Station, m.a. ewes 20/-, six-year £<ves 13/10; ou a/c. Ji. Stewart, two-toolli ewes 27/1, five-year ewes 17/1 and 11/6; on a/c. R. C. Christophers, two-tooth ewes 23/-; on a/c. F. J. Williams, two-tooth ewes 21/9, fiveyear ewes 19/9. m.a. ewes 12/-; on a/c. A. L. Stewart, two-tooth ewes 24/-, five-year ewes 13/-. six-year ewes 12/8, five lo sixyear 10/7: on a/c. L. Ransom, in.a. ewes 10/6.

Williams and Kettle Ltd. offered some good station lines of both young and old ewes. Ewes sold well, but rather a dragging sale resulted for the older ewes. Gilbert, 21/7. Four-tooth and six-tooth ewes; A/e. Huiarau Station. 19/7; a/c. Marainanga Station, 18/7: a/c. L. Ransom, 17/8; a/c. W. T. Luxton, 17/-. Four-tooth and fouryear ewes: A/'e. L. 11.
