CROWN APPLICATION

Conscientious Appeals Of Open Brethren CASES TO BE REOPENED Leave to reopen the cases of 11 members of the Open Brethren who had appealed the previous day on the grounds of conscientious objection, decision then being reserved, was granted by the No. 4 Armed Forces Appeal Board at Wellington yesterday on the application of the Crown representative, Mr. C. O. Bell. Mr. Bell said he did not propose to deal with individual cases but to produce further evidence regarding the viewpoint advanced by the appellants. The leave to reopen, granted by the board, is subject to seven days’ notice to Mr. J. S. Burt, Auckland, appellants’ counsel.
