Farmers Want Position Clarified The Makara-Hutt Valley provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union, at its monthly meeting this week, discussed the position with regard to fencing wire, and alarm was expressed at the position indicated in the statement made recently by Mr. W. A. lorus that the margins which traders would receive for handling wire were to ’be considerably increased, it was felt by the meeting tiia.t: the Government should lose no time iu setting out exactly what the position was, and the following resolution was' passed:—

“That this meeting requests the Minister of Supply to make a public statement on tlie question (if the price of fencing wire, and the margins which are to be allowed the various interests under the Government’s new scheme.”
