HELPING GERMANY BEAT BLOCKADE
Russia Supplying Raw Materials MOSCOW, August 23. Tlie newspaper “Izvestia,” reviewing the first year of tlie Russian-German non-aggression pact, says that Russia was helping Germany to beat tlie British blockade by supplying raw materials, in return for German industrial and armaments production. Commerce between the two nations was now greater than at any time since the last war.
Tlie treaty was a most important factor for peace and marked a turningpoint in the history of all Europe—and not Europe alone.
