Enemy Planes Brought Down LONDON. August 25. The total number of enemy planes shot down since yesterday morning is 48—41 by fighters, five by’anti-aircraft fire, and two by a naval trawler. Ten R.A.F. planes are missing, but the pilot of one was saved. Raiders were over districts in the south-west of England early this morning. Four houses were damaged by bombs and there were a number of casualties, some fatal. Many bombs were also dropped in the north-east of England, but the damage was comparatively small. So far only one casualty has been reported.
