Statement Of Accounts
A statement of accounts for the Centennial Eucharistic Congress, held in Wellington last February, has been issued to the Catholic community of Wellington.
On the receipts side the total given is £11,779/11/7. One of the chief sources of revenue was Congress membership and sale of badges, which represented £7127/17/9 from Wellington, £576/17/- from Dunedin, £402/1/- from Auckland, and £291/13/- from Christchurch, making a total (with the amount of £443/8/5 for Congress office) of £BB4l/17/2. Other receipts were, trn follows:—Congress brochure, £333 13/4; advertising, £554/12/6; congress functions, £438/15/-; contribution of Maori people, £839/5/6; miscellaneous receipts. £424; Catholic pavilion, £2Bl 12/6; debit balance, £65/15/7. On the payments,side, the cost of putting tlie grounds of St. Patrick’s College in order is shown as £1532 18/1: cost of altar and seating, £1498 11/4; ground amplification and processions, £217/16/9; miscellaneous, £4l 0/1. Other payments were: Congress office, £1056/19/10; congress badges, £lOOl/3/-; publicity committee, £589 9/1: hospitality io visiting prelates, £483/4/6; functions committee, £530 13/10; liturgical commit tec and choir, £251/17/10: transport committee. £2OO/18/10: children's committee, £93 9/11: congress film. £3O: Otaki Maori celebrations, £B6l/6./-: Archbishop Bedwood Memorial. £367/1/8; Catholic pavilion nt Ceuteniiial Exhibition. £2932/11/8.
