FAREWELL MESSAGE
American Journalists In Australia
(Received August 23, 11.55 p.m.) CANBERRA, August 23.
The Prime Minister, Mr. Menzies, received a farewell message from the visiting American journalists, who are now flying to Darwin on route to the Dutch East Indios. The message expresses to the Commonwealth Government a deep sense of appreciation ami profound gratitude for the generous hospitality and also the friendly interest shown in their visit.
A Brisbane report says the visiting o journalists are all keen that Australia should grant reciprocal rights to America to' establish an air base in Australia. They declared that they see Australia as the foundation of a new world potver affording the closest bonds in outlook, linking the peoples of America, Canada and Australia.
