WASHINGTON, August 23. President Roosevelt announced six United States representatives on the joint United States-Canadian Defence Board. He also gave the names of the Canadian members as designated by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mackenzie KingThe United States representatives are: The mayor of New York, Mr. La Guardia; Lieutenant-General Stanley S. Embrick, commandant of the fourth corps area, Atlanta, Georgia; Captain Harry W. Hill, of the navy war plans division: -Mr. John D. Hickerson, assistant. chief of the State Departments division of European affairs; Captain Forrest I’. Sherman, of the mryy war plans division; Lieutenant-Colonel Joseph McNarney, of the army air Captain Sherman and Colonel McNarnev together represent a. single seat. They will also alternate in the absence of any other member. The Canadian representatives are: Mr. O. M. Biggar, K.C.; Brigadier K. Stuart, deputy chief of the general staff; Captain L. W. Murray, deputychief of the naval staff; Air Commander A A. L. Cuffe, of the Royal Canadian Air Force; Mr. Hugh L. Kennleyside, counsellor in the Department of External Affairs. Mr. Kennleyside will be secretary ot the Canadian section and Mr. Hickerson secretary of the United States secThe joint board will meet for the first time on August 20.
