Katan Beats Corbett
Dominion Special Service. WANGANUI, August. 22. In a heav.vwegiht wrestling contest here toinght between J. Corbett and John Katan. Katati secured the only fall in found six. with a body press. The opening rounds were strenuous affairs, in which Corbett held his own against roughhouse tactics adopted by Katan. Katan ran into a series of heavy jolts ill round seven, and Corbett went hard lor an equalizing fall, but Katan resisted strongly fill Ihe end of the round. The iinal round saw Corbett again make repooled efforts to make a draw, but he failed to secure a fall against Katan. who was declared the winner.
