OBITUARY
Mrs. M. F. Hancock
The death occurred on Saturday of Mrs. M. F. Hancock, of IS Bridge Street, Lower Hutt. Born in Lower Hutt nearly 70 years ago, Mrs. Hancock was the fifth daughter of the late Joseph Hall, who arrived in Wellington with his parents and four brothers in the ship London in 1542. She married Mr. Joseph 'Hancock in 1895. He died 37 years ago. Mrs. Hancock leaves two sons to mourn her loss, Mr. J. F. Hancock, of the Wellington City Council inspectors’ staff, and Mr. p. Hancock, Lower Hutt. The late Mrs. Hancock was one of a family of 11 children, those living being Mrs. Bingham, New Plymouth, Mrs. Knight, Lowry Bay, Mrs. Tregurtha, Opawa. Mr. Arthur Hall, Lowry Bay, and Messrs. George and William Hall, Lower Hutt, The interment took place at Taita Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon. Many friends and relatives were present, and representatives of the Boy Scout movement in the Hutt Valley formed a guard of honour at tho residence and the cemetery gates. The Rev. J. E. Lopdell conducted the burial services at the home and cemetery. Mrs. C. F. Newton The death has occurred of Mr.Susan Newton, wife of Mr. Charles Frederick Newton, Hastings, says ti “Dominion” Special Service message. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. \V. E. Bulled, Hastings, and was born in Meeanee in 1905. She was educated at Taradale School. She is survived by her husband and a family of three young children. There is' also a brother, Mr. W. Bulled, Henlev Station, Patoka, and two slitters, Mesdaraes Russell, Ashhurst, and Mann, Wellington.
