NEW CALEDONIA
Australia’s Great Interest CANBERRA, August 20.
Replying to an appeal for help from the French colony in Noumea the Minister of External Affairs. Mr. J McEwen, issued a statement that Australia was intensely interested in the economic welfare of Now Caledonia and was making arrangements for closer liaison by the dispatch of a Government representative. The Government was also considering a request for the establishment, of an Australian bank .In that colony.
