REMANDS GRANTED
Charged in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday, with obtaining from G.-1L V. Simpson £l5 by a false pretence. William Wallace Clifford, labourer, aged 30. was remanded by Mr. Stout, S.M., to 1 appear in Palmerston North today. The offence was alleged to have been committed in Palmerston North on May IS. Samuel Leo Brunning, farm labourer, aged 19, charged with stealing a money order valued at £l/7/11. the property of Vernon John Edmonds, was remanded to appear in Wellington again on August 28. Detective-Sergeant W. McLennan applied for the remand in each ease.
