Hawke’s Bay Proposal
GROWERS’ ASSOCIATION TO COLLECT DATA Dominion Special Service.
HASTINGS, August 21. Information concerning the establishment of a fruit-evaporating plant in Ilawko’w Bay is to be collected by the Hawke's Bar Fruitgrowers’ Association as a result of a decision reached at a meeting of the committee. Instructions were given to the secretary to obtain particulars regarding importations, markets. costs and varieties handled. When such information is to hand it will be possible to decide whether to proceed with the proposal. The committee decided to prepare a requisition to the Valuer-General regarding county valuations, and this is to be available for signature by orchardists who desire to have their properties revalued.
It was reported that the association bad recently acquired a residential property for use in the event of it being necessary to extend the association's premises.
